Hello and welcome to the page I call home.   

I grew up in Toronto.  Did my BSc at Univ of Toronto  1975-9 and  half an MA at Univ of Pune in India (the Netflix documentary Wild, Wild Country shows Pune in those  years). Started in Logic and Methodology at Berkeley in 1980; switched to Philosophy in 1981.  Completed my PhD in 1986  with George Myro and  Donald Davidson.  Taught at Univ of Michigan from 1986-1998; moved to MIT in 1998, and never left.  Married to Sally Haslanger, also a philosopher at MIT.
